How to Add Objects to a Custom Course Empty
PostSubject: How to Add Objects to a Custom Course   How to Add Objects to a Custom Course I_icon_minitimeSat Sep 11, 2010 8:05 pm

It has come to my attention that many people do not know how to add objects that were not originally in the existing course, or are confused about how it is done. So here is a detailed explanation on how to do this without hex editing. Very Happy

You will need the SZS Explorer to add objects to a course. It can be downloaded here:

http://chadderz.is-a-geek.com/ctools/setup.exe

Video Tutorial by mkwiigamer/4TLPati:

You need to add all of the files that a certain object uses (such as .brres files, .brasd files, and .kcl files) using the SZS Explorer. For example, anything that has Kinoko in it's filename represents a bouncy mushroom, so if you want to import a bouncy mushroom, export all the files with Kinoko in them (Mushroom Gorge) and import them to your track. Then find the Object Type in the .kmp editor. For example, a bouncy mushroom uses 01F6. Change the type of any object you want in the .kmp editor to that number (01F6 for a bouncy mushroom). That dot on the map represents the bouncy mushroom. If you imported all the files, the course should load up. The first 4 letters or numbers in the first settings column represent route data - make sure an object that originally has route data is assigned route data. Example; if you want the object to use Route 13, then 13 in hex is "D". Subtract 1 and the value will be "C". So to use Route 13, you would enter the value "000C" as the first 4 digits in the first Settings column.]

Someone else with more time can do that hopefully, because I don't think I have the time to go through all of the courses in the game and figure out what objects are what.

Moo Moo Meadows looks awkward for now

But texture hacking and adding Monty Moles will restore it's prestine beauty.

Look at the original object's settings. Make sure all are correct. For example, the first setting is usually FFFF0000.

FFFF = Route to use. In objects that don't use then, it's FFFF
0000 = Route point to start at.
Objects that use that use routes usually have complex settings.

Problem is (for me) Microsoft NET 4.0 won't install due to my crappy network. Either I use someone else's ethernet cable for network that works or wait until I go to Edmonton in March.

Though I do know how to do this sort of stuff. Like Exporting and importing. Next track I make, I'd like to add an escalator, and Spinning Top and Chain Chomps.

I'd call it "Forum of Nature"

Forum meaning Market in Latin.
